Adult Basic Education (ABE)

ABE stands for Adult Basic Education. ABE is an umbrella term used to describe a range of educational services for adults from basic literacy, numeracy, English for non-native speakers of English (ESOL), high school equivalency (GED), and adult diploma programs.

The ABE classes are primary for adults, 16 years of age or older, who are already proficient in speaking the English language and would like to improve the basic reading, writing, and math skills. All students must be tested during the registration process in order to be placed in the appropriate literacy level in each of the ABE academic courses.

ABE classes are free of charge to eligible students.
